Bring the Rain

He came today carrying that little white box. Twice.

Can I tell you something that you might not understand?

It's harder for me to hold this little one whose eyes are so swollen he can't see, than it is to bathe and dress the lifeless body of a child who suffers no more. Their bodies are made new and tonight they are held by the One who is the giver of Life.

It has been raining off and on all day. We need it here badly. With no rain to feed the crops, more children go hungry.

Today I am reminded of this song by Mercy Me, Bring the Rain. It is one of the songs I play on this blog because I love it so much. Storms rage in our lives every single day, and often those things are not from God, but He promises to work all things together for the good of those who love him. Poverty. Losing a job. Losing someone you love. Freaking Kwashiorkor. He will turn our storms into good and it will ultimately bring Him glory.

I love the heart of these lyrics. Our circumstances can change, but who we are in Christ will never change.

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that
I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You

Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings
You glory And I know there'll
be days When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to
praise You Jesus, bring the rain

I am yours regardless of the clouds that may
loom above because you are much greater than
my pain you who made a way for me suffering
your destiny so tell me whats a little rain

Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
is the lord God almighty
is the lord God almighty
I'm forever singing

Everybody singing
Holy holy holy
you are holy
you are holy

So Jesus, Bring the Rain. In Haiti and in my life. Because the clouds they loom above, but I am still Yours. The babies are still Yours.

I found your blog after looking through the Haiti Rescue Center, and I couldn't read through your post without crying. And I must say that you are amazing!
